It used to be that the best "halo halo" ("mix mix" translated literally) is that which has the widest assortment of sweetened fruit and tapioca fillings. The leche flan, ube and ice cream toppings were a given in making a good "halo halo". Not so, anymore.
Razon's version has few ingredients, uses carabao milk and has the finest ice shavings. But certainly not lacking in flavors. Another comfort food is Razon's pancit luglog. One serving is "bitin", but enough if you're also ordering other comfort foods.
Whenever I have balikbayan guests, a trip to Razon's pops up in our schedule. Always. The more adventurous would even order the "dinuguan" (black pudding stew?) or take home some siopao or puto. All I've tried but no way I can eat all that in one seating :-(
Razon's original store is in Guagua but you don't have to drive all the way to Pampanga. Branches are everywhere from the food courts of MOA, Market Market, SM Malls, etc. And there are stand alone dining outlets to be found too. I'm sure there's one near your place.
