I woke up with my apo (grandchild) nudging me to take them out for brunch. Now, when that happens, I have the better sense to simply say YES. You never start a day with so much nagging.
I was just secretly wishing this Commune place serves good coffee, as it would be my first cup of my favorite brew for today. I was more than pleased. The cappuccino tasted good even if I had to take a few moments to appreciate how it looks.
In case you missed it, one cup had a kitty while the other had a panda 3D froth design. The 2nd time we visited, Peppa was in a cup of hot mocha. Latté art? Soooo cute. Apos are so happy.
The breakfast items ranged from Pinoy trad brekkies like chicken longganiza and adobo to commune club sandwiches and a few vegetarian delights. My advice: try the Commune Club Sandwich. Or half of it, served with camote fries and a green salad.
The place looks chic cool and has a relaxing vibe. I'm told the place -- with all those cartoony art -- is a popular events place, and I tend to agree. But I'd stick to the sandwiches and desserts 😄
A new favorite is the cookie shot. Nothing but a cookie shaped into a cup to hold either steamed milk or ice cream. So cool! You may also try their cupcakes.
Commune is right along (#102) H. V. De la Costa Street housed in Liberty Plaza Bldg in Salcedo Village near the corner of Makati Avenue where PCI Bank is. Try their cute-sy coffee and club sandwiches there next time!
